Our Mission

The mission of the Christian Institute for Biblical Studies is to educate through God’s Word to equip all men and women called to Christian ministry or service.

Welcome to the Christian Institute for Biblical Studies!

We are living in an amazing time full of challenges, and where there are challenges there are opportunities. We have a great opportunity to reach the lost for Christ and to strengthen our families, our churches and our communities in relationships with one another and with God. The opportunity comes in the way of communication. We have the ability to talk to anyone…at any time…anywhere in the world at any given moment. With this great ability comes great responsibility. As Christians we have a responsibility to communicate truth and reason as it correlates to God, His Word and His Plan. To communicate responsibly and effectively requires knowledge and understanding of God’s Word.

CIBS (Christian Institute for Biblical Studies) was founded in 1987 by the late Dr. Charles Burgin. The school began out of a need for an institution whose curriculum was strictly based on the Bible, conservative, understanding and respecting Restoration Movement principles. Our mission is to educate and equip ministers, leaders, workers and anyone desiring to be effective in evangelism for the kingdom of God. That mission has not changed. CIBS is very affordable leaving the student and/or graduate with little or no debt upon completion of studies.

Much of the person I am today is a result of knowing Dr. Charles Burgin and working with him at CIBS until his death in 2014. We are very blessed by what God is doing at CIBS as we continue building on the legacy that Dr. Burgin left behind, honoring the past and building for the future.

Whatever your reason, as President of CIBS, I am pleased you are considering the Christian Institute for Biblical Studies your school! I am here to help you and facilitate your educational experience at CIBS. May God bless you in your desire to honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you (1st Peter 3:15 ESV).

Yours for the Master,
Jason R. Horn
President, CIBS
